OPP release the names involved in both collisions.

 

Sudbury OPP say the passenger of the transport that hit a rock cut on Highway 17 West yesterday was the victim, while the driver faces charges.

Westbound lanes of Highway 17 were closed for around 12 hours yesterday after a the tractor trailer hit a rock cut near Regional Road 55.

The passenger of the truck, 33-year old Jennifer Bastasich from Cornwall was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Kimberly-Ann Warden, also from Cornwall, was charged with careless driving.

 

Local OPP have also released the name of the victim from the Highway 17 East collision involving a SUV and transport.

Around 10:20 am, the SUV and transport collided east of Markstay.

The driver of the SUV, 65-year old Lise Myre of Sudbury was pronounced dead at the scene, while the transport driver sustained minor injuries.

The highway was closed for 7 hours for police investigation and OPP say no charges will be laid.

They also say road and weather conditions were not a factor in either collision.
