In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, Sudbury MP Paul Lefebvre is rolling out a reading challenge.

All children, grades 5-8 will have until June 12th to read up to 150 hours of Canadian literature which can be books, poems or short stories.

Lefebvre says it’s important that our youth learn about the country.

Students are encouraged as well to write a brief speech, anecdote or poem highlighting why they love Canada for a chance at prizes from Science North, Chapters, ARC Climbing and M.I.C. Restaurant.

Students create a reading log and learn about prizes by visiting his website here.
