Sudbury City Council voted unanimously against the proposed Fire and Emergency Services Optimization Plan.

They voted last night to not accept the report which means none of the proposed changes like hiring more full-time firefighters or closing fire stations will happen.

Mayor Brian Bigger says council didn’t have enough time to digest the report with so many implications.

A new fire and emergency services plan could come forward in the future but for now this one has been extinguished.

However council heard that individual pieces of the plan can be brought back to council near budget time.
