So this post has a lot of information on where to go for credible facts. And this situation is fluid so the links provided will be updated with information as as our situation in Greater Sudbury changes.

Symptoms of COVID-19 can range from mild to severe and include:

fever
cough
difficulty breathing (shortness of breath)
Complications from the 2019 novel coronavirus can include serious conditions, like pneumonia or kidney failure, and in some cases, death.

What to do if you suspect you have symptoms of novel coronavirus
If you develop symptoms of COVID-19, call Telehealth Ontario for medical advice at 1.866.797.0000 (TTY 1.866.797.0007) or Public Health Sudbury & Districts at 705.522.9200 (toll-free 1.866.522.9200).

Be sure to mention your symptoms and your travel history, including the countries you visited.

If you are ill and must visit a health care professional, call ahead and tell them that you have a respiratory illness. You may be asked to wear a mask while waiting for or receiving treatment to prevent the spread of illness.

If you need immediate medical attention, call 911 and mention your travel history and symptoms.

Let’s start with education. Ontario schools have been ordered to remain closed from March 14 through to April 5, 2020. So an extra two weeks off school for ALL of our school boards. Classes will resume on Monday, April 6th. Read the official statement at sudbury.com

We will be updating the status of local events as they become available but this is what we know so far.
The Sudbury Wolves are taking a break in the interest of public and team health.

As a result of the suspension of the season by the National Basketball League of Canada, both Sudbury Five home games scheduled for this weekend against the Halifax Hurricanes and St. John’s Edge will no longer take place.

The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced that tonight’s two playoff games between the Soo Thunderbirds and Blind River Beavers, as well as the match-up between the Rayside-Balfour Canadians and Soo Eagles have both been postponed. Further updates will be provided by the NOJHL once they are finalized.

NHL statement on coronavirus: League pauses season, hopes to resume play ‘as soon as it is appropriate’.

The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice. The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.
