I was always told that breakfast was the most important meal of the day, so of course I started today off right with a home cooked meal. As soon as i was finished I realized the mistake I had made, for today I would be representing 92.7 ROCK at the Rainbow Center for the Blueberry Festival’s Celebrity Pie Eating Contest. Given the choice between cake and pie I have always been a pie girl, but this seemed like a bit too much sugar even for me. After a station pep-talk, I packed up the 2018 Mazda MX-5 from Palladino Mazda full of water and a change of clothes and was ready to ‘chomp’ out the competition!  I had so much fun getting to meet the representatives from other stations who each gave me their best tips and tricks to win. While waiting for the competition to begin, I got to hand out prizes from Sudbury Auto Collision and free play passes to KUPP indoor play center and KUPP laser tag to some lucky audience members. Some supporters also took this opportunity to grab a picture with my sweet ride so they could post it on their social media with the hashtag #927ROCKAquacadeBBQ for the chance to win a barbecue courtesy of Aquacade Pools and Spas. And then the moment had arrived, I flipped my pie over and I was in the race! While not placing, I am proud to say that in a span 5 minutes I finished an ENTIRE blueberry pie…minus two bites. I feel so honored to have been included in this year’s Blueberry Festival and cannot wait for the remaining events!
