If you ate deli meat or cheese from the Real Canadian Superstore on Lasalle in Sudbury over the past couple of weeks, you probably need to be vaccinated against hepatitis A, and that includes those meat and cheese trays that are made in-store. Public Health Sudbury and District says a clerk who works at the deli counter has been diagnosed with hepatitis A, and if you ate deli items
between November 27th and December 16th, you might be at risk.
There will be free drop-in clinics for those who may be at risk and ate the products within 14 days…those clinic locations and times will be posted on the health units website.
Individuals who ate the foods more than 14 days ago are advised to contact Public Health, monitor their health for signs and symptoms, and follow up with their health care provider if symptoms develop.
Mell and Chris called the Manager of the Environmental Health Division of the local Heath Unit, Burgess Hawkins to talk about the issue and who is at risk.
