A new look for the Canada Food Guide.

Health Canada’s new guide no longer features food groups and portion sizes instead it recommends eating more plant-based protein and stresses that Canadians should make water their drink of choice.

The new guide says we should eat vegetables, fruits, whole grains and choose plant-based proteins, such as legumes, nuts and tofu, more often.

It no longer lists milk and dairy products as a distinct food group but does include examples of low-fat, low-sodium and unsweetened dairy products.

Some worry how the new look guide will affect industry in Canada.
