Voting for the Greater Sudbury Municipal Election has been extended to 8 pm tomorrow night October 23rd after widespread issues with the elections service provider.

Residents will be able to vote from computers, tablets or mobile devices.

There will once again be in person polling stations set up across the city to help with voting.

City Clerk Eric Labelle says staff will be at polling locations so there will be an additional cost in salaries but there will be no additional cost from the service provider of the voting website.

If you were already able to cast your vote it will still count and be tabulated after the polls close at 8 pm.

Sudbury.com will once again host a live election show and there will be updates on our stations 927 Rock and KiSS 105.3 throughout the hour beginning at 8 pm.

Mayor Brian Bigger along with a number of candidates expressed frustration with the voting system and the lack of results.

Bigger along with city council voted to go all electronic for this municipal election.

He says the next election shouldn’t be all online.

Sudbury was not the only community affected by the service issues, but many others chose to extend their deadline to 9 p.m.

Labelle told Sudbury.com the reason behind extending a full 24 hours was to give everyone that needed to go to a polling station, time to get there.

Here is the full list of polling stations for tomorrow.
