Your 92.7ROCK New Sudbury Center Girls of Summer had a weekend full of amazing causes, food, and music! Friday gave us the opportunity to pay tribute to those battling, having beaten, or have been lost in the fight against cancer. Relay for Life was an incredible experience for the whole team with everyone having a connection in some way to this fight. The celebration included food vendors, a survivors tent, as well as merchandise sold in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Highlights included the survivors walk, balloon release, and luminary ceremony. There was not a dry eye at the Laurentian University Track that night. While Sara Jo stayed to watch the fireworks I headed over to Cousin Vinny’s in Hanmer for Valley East Day’s Clash of the Bands. Chris and I made quite the entrance with him pulling up on his motorcycle and myself pulling up in the 2018 Mazda MX5 from Palladino Mazda. While I loved the Godfather pizza which I cannot recommend enough, the music was definitely the highlight of the night. These young people were so talented, I can’t wait to see where their musical careers take them.

Saturday started off strong with the Rally for Dad motorcycle ride held to raise funds to purchase new equipment for the treatment of prostate cancer at the Northern Cancer Center in Sudbury. We met up with the group at the A&W on Marcus Drive for an awesome after party filled with prizes, good food, and even better company. Sara Jo and I were able to take pictures on a few bikes in exchange for prizes from the New Sudbury Center, and Sudbury Auto Collision. At the end of the afternoon the Northern Cancer Foundation revealed that the riders alone had successfully raised a total of $30,000! The rest of our weekend was spent rocking out at the second annual Feast Fest! We got to meet so many incredible Canadian Artists including The Trews and our good friends the Fortunate Losers. Some lucky ‘feasters’ were able to score some prizes from Toppers Pizza, the New Sudbury Center, Sudbury Auto Collision, Brown’s Concrete, and play passes to KUPP indoor play center and KUPP laser tag. The hardest part of our weekend was picking a food truck to eat at for each of our meals, I am already planning my route for next year. Thanks for another great weekend Sudbury!
