EDMONTON — Canadian rock musician Matthew Good was taken to hospital after collapsing on stage during a performance at Edmonton’s Jubilee Auditorium on Tuesday night.

Singer Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace, which is touring with Good, told the crowd Good had collapsed due to pneumonia.

And a message posted on Good’s official Twitter account said, “As Raine said on stage tonight, Matt’s been under the weather recently, but still wanted to go on with the show.”

The message added: “Unfortunately, he couldn’t carry on with the performance, and as a precautionary measure he has been taken to hospital.”

In a video posted on social media, Maida also told the audience that Good “wanted to do the show and he tried to do it and you saw what happened.”

The crowd than burst into applause when Maida urged them to give Good a “big hand for even getting up there.”

Good and Our Lady Peace are currently on a cross-Canada tour that began March 1 in St. John’s, N.L.

The two acts also performed at the Jubilee Auditorium on Monday night.

There was no immediate word on whether they would perform as scheduled Wednesday night at the CN Centre in Prince George , B.C. before ending the tour with shows in Kelowna and Abbotsford.
