The countdown begins as Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival is just over a month away.

Executive Director, Tammy Frick and her team revealed some of the films yesterday including three Galas, World Cinema and a few special presentations including the worlds first fully painted film called Loving Vincent.

The film festival that is rated in the top five in Canada unveiled three of it’s Gala films, “Call Me By Your Name”, which is getting Oscar buzz, Borg/McEnroe staring Shia Labeouf as John McEnroe and for the first time ever the festival will lead off with a documentary.

The festival begins on September 16th with Long Time Running, a behind the scenes film leading up to the Tragically Hip Man, Machine, Poem Tour.

Frick says there isn’t a specific theme this year like in past versions.

The festival may be a bit light on Canadian films although the ones featured will be really good, there is a focus on films from around the world.

Tickets are now on sale for the nine day festival that kicks off September 16th and runs to the 24th.
