The city will be performing a test of the Sudbury Alerts Emergency Notification System today.
Residents in the Lively and Copper Cliff areas and anyone who entered those areas in their registration profile will get a test notification.
If you have not signed up for Sudbury Alerts it can be done on the city’s website.

Sudbury Alerts

The City of Greater Sudbury has launched a mass notification service that allows us to notify residents of any imminent threat to public safety. Sign up to receive these notifications by using this voluntary portal and opt-in with your contact information.

The information you provide is protected and will not be used for any other purpose.

How does it work?
When a notification is issued about a potential safety hazard or concern that is considered an imminent threat to public safety, you will receive a message via voice or text depending on how you requested to receive messaging. If requested within the notification, you can confirm that you have received the message and you will not be contacted by any subsequent methods regarding that particular notification. If you do not confirm, the system will continue to attempt to reach you at all of the contact systems that you have registered.

Sign Up For Notifications

Create an account and add your contact and location information to your profile. The system will accept land line numbers, cell phone numbers, email addresses, TTY services, and fax numbers. All information you provide will be kept confidential.

Stop Receiving Notifications

Should you wish to delete your profile, you may still receive emergency notifications if you have a publicly-available phone number.

To delete your profile, please email sudburyalerts@greatersudbury.ca.
