When is the last time you had you blood pressure checked?

Nine out of 10 Canadians are expected to develop high blood pressure in their life and World Hypertension Day is used to raise awareness about knowing your number.

Pharmacy Manager at the Chelmsford IDA, Sylvain Gratton says getting blood pressure checked is not just for older adults as catching a problem early can help avoid strokes, heart attacks and kidney failure.

Blood pressure can be checked at most local pharmacies and normal blood pressure ranges for adults is between 120 and 140 over 80.

Gratton says the same goes for seniors, but blood pressure numbers also depend on health of the patient.
