A new 12 bed facility built for those living with acquired brain injuries will be build on the same property as the 10 bed Wade Hampton House on Bancroft Drive.

City council endorsed the March of Dimes project this week with an estimated cost of 1.8 million, but Deanna Chisholm-Tullio with March of Dimes Canada says that number is closer to 2.8 million.

Chisholm Tullio says the facility will provide some much needed relief.

Tullio  says wait times for the facility are up to 25 people at a time to get into a much needed place of care.

She says capital campaigns have been running since the start of 2015 and they have a bit of fund raising left to do before shovels can get in the ground.
