Two workers were involved in an incident at Vale’s Copper Cliff Mine that the Ministry of Labour is now investigating.

The MOL were notified on May 5th that two workers were working by a sand fill barricade when the barricade gave way releasing cement, water and debris.

One worker suffered a non-critical injury.

Both were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The investigation is ongoing but the Ministry issued two requirements for documentation, one requirement has been complied with and the other is outstanding.
