The full lineup for the 46th Northern Lights Festival Boreal is out and it includes a wind range of music with a focus on original founding nations.

Organizers announced a handful of new artists to round out the festival including Oscar, Juno and Golden Globe winner Buffy Sainte-Marie and A Tribe Called Red.

Executive Director Max Merrifield says for the first time in a decade they added an extra day to pay tribute to the First Nations, Metis and Inuit people.

The four day festival will also feature Yukon Blonde, Whitehorse and the kids will have a chance to see Canadian Icon Fred Penner, host of the long running CBC program Fred Penner’s Place.

Buffy Sainte-Marie headlines Thursday, Yukon Blonde on Friday, Tribe Called Red on Saturday and Whitehorse with Andy Shauf on Sunday.

Early bird tickets are on sale now with prices going up May 1st.
