Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault says the government has spent less than one-million dollars on ads about the Liberal government’s planned hydro bill reductions.

Both the P-C’s and N-D-P are complaining about the radio and social media ads, saying they are meant to boost the Liberals’ popularity.

The Progressive Conservatives say the ads are in contempt of parliament because no legislation has been passed or even tabled, and promoting the policy as definite presumes the will of the house.

Thibeault says the government just wants to make sure everyone knows about the 25 per cent reduction that’s coming.
