Personal information of over 86 people were released in two apparent privacy breaches by the City of Greater Sudbury,

The Privacy Commissioner has been informed that the current City of Greater Sudbury’s Freedom of Information Tracking List, which is published online, contained a name and date of birth of a client from Ontario Works.

Staff then dug deeper finding a tracking list published on May 3rd included identities, date of birth and personal information of 86 requestors.

Documents were removed on December 5th and the city is now taking steps to ensure containment and will investigate.
