To commemorate what would have been David Bowie’s 70th birthday, a bevy of his friends and collaborators are planning a giant concert at London’s Brixton Academy on January 8. NME reports the bash is being hosted by actor Gary Oldman and features former Bowie collaborators Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Adrian Belew, Gerry Leonard, Gail Ann Dorsey, and Sterling Campbell, among others. The concert is apparently just one of many shows in the works around the world to celebrate Bowie: NME notes there will be others taking place elsewhere, “in cities that have a strong connection with David Bowie and his work.”
