Many Americans have joked over the past year about immigrating to Canada amid the chaotic presidential race; now it seems those same Americans crashed Canada’s main immigration and citizenship website on election night. Meanwhile, according to Google Trends, searches of “How to move to Canada“ began surging at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. America’s neighbors to the north appeared somewhat bemused by the situation. In fact, the official Canada Twitter account @Canada tweeted, “In Canada, immigrants are encouraged to bring their cultural traditions with them and share them with their fellow citizens.“
