America’s golden boy Bruce Springsteen reveals in a new interview with Rolling Stone that he supports Colin Kaepernick’s protest of the National Anthem. “We’re in a time where there isn’t any place where these issues can be excluded,“ Springsteen explains. “I admire Kaepernick, but it’s a very difficult field to be outspoken in.“ The “Born in the U.S.A.” singer goes on to say that staging protests in sports can be “a difficult place to make political statements.” “There was the Olympics in the ’60s, and obviously Muhammad Ali. But sports is such an escapist field,” he continues. “I think when politics or personal expression is injected, it rankles people more than in other fields.“
