While Americans have unprecedentedly strong opinions about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, only about half have formed any opinion at all about their running mates, Mike Pence and Tim Kaine. The latter two gentlemen will air their differences tonight in Virginia, the only vice-presidential debate before the November 8 election. While the AP notes that Pence will likely be tasked with explaining away Trump’s daily slip-ups, viewers should be on the alert for memorable one-liners, like when Lloyd Bentsen told Dan Quayle, “You’re no Jack Kennedy,“ or when Ross Perot’s running mate, Admiral James Stockdale, said, “Who am I? Why am I here?“
