Thibeault

Ontario’s Energy Ministry says the province won’t be signing any contracts to bring a thousand megawatts of green energy to the grid.

Glenn Thibeault says the move to not add any more solar, wind or other renewable energy sources will save the province up to $3.8 billion dollars in costs from it’s 2013 long term plan.

The Sudbury MPP says that savings means consumers will NOT be hit with an extra $2.45 on their monthly bills.

Thibeault says the Independent Electricity System Operators planning outlook found the province already has a robust supply of electricity for the next decade and doesn’t need to purchase any more.
