Bruce Springsteen gets candid about his struggles with depression in his forthcoming memoir Born to Run. “I was crushed between 60 and 62, good for a year and out again from 63 to 64,“ the musician writes in an excerpt shared by Vanity Fair yesterday. “Not a good record.“ Springsteen also tells the outlet why he decided to talk about his mental health in the book. “I knew I was gonna ’go there’ in the book,“ he adds. “I had to find the roots of my own troubles and issues-and the joyful things that have allowed me to put on the kind of shows that we put on.“ Born to Run will be released on September 27th.
