Province Invests 3.5 Million In Local Mining

An investment of 3.5 million dollars in six local mining projects is expected to create 28 jobs in the North.

Minister of Northern Development and Mines and chair of the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation was on hand Friday with Sudbury MPP Glenn Thibeault to make the announcement in Val Caron.

The bigger investments went to Hardrock Mining Projects which received one million to relocate, modernize and expand its Sudbury operation.

While Boart Longyear Canada got 1.37 million dollars to develop technology for mineral exploration rigs.
