Sudbury Chosen As Host Of 2018 TELUS Cup

Sudbury will be the host of Canada’s National Midget hockey Championship…the 2018 TELUS Cup.

It was announced today, the premier hockey event will make it’s return to the city for the first time since 1998 and will run from April 23rd to the 29th, 2018.

Director on the board of Hockey Canada, Edward Pupichsays the passion of the city and the bid that was put forward made their choice an easy one.

Albert Corradini is the General Manager of the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves who won it all in 2008 and he says fans are in for some high quality hockey and a high quality tournament.

Chair of the Board of the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation, Wendy Watson says this tournament can also be used as a stepping stone for the future, a chance to show that the city can host national and international events.

Six of the best teams from across the country will take part including one from Sudbury, with the final game televised on National TV.
