R-I-D-E spotchecks helped Sudbury Police catch a driver going the wrong way on a busy street.

A 39-year old was stopped Friday night for traveling north bound on Notre Dame Avenue in the south bound lane.

The driver failed a road-side test followed by breath tests at the police station that showed a blood alcohol level of twice the legal limit.

The unidentified person was charged with impaired driving and had their licence suspended for 90 days.

Police stopped 61 vehicles at Haig Street at Edna and Notre Dame at Wilma.
