A last minute court date for Gerry Lougheed Junior saw the charges against him “stayed.”

The Crown Attourney made the decision meaning they can resume the prosecution against him at any time within the next year, but once that year ends the charges will be officially dropped.

Lougheed’s Lawyer, Michael Lacy represented him in court earlier today and says the charges are still hanging over his head but Lougheed is happy.

The court dates previously set aside for the case in July have been vacated.

Lacy says Lougheed will not be making a statement at this time.

He also wouldn’t comment on if Lougheed has been contacted on a parallel investigation by OPP looking into the conduct of Lougheed and Premier Kathleen Wynne’s chief of staff for an”apparent contravention,” of the Elections Act.

Tune in on KiSS 105.3 and Q92 at 4 pm and 5 pm today as well as 5:30 am to 8:30 am tomorrow morning on both stations for more audio from Lougheed’s lawyer.
