We are in for sunshine and warm temperatures for the next few days, but that isn’t necessarily good news for Conservation Sudbury.

They have issued a Water Safety Advisory as runoff from the snow melt will result in higher and faster-flowing water in most watercourses.

There is still plenty of snow on the ground with significant water content in the northern portions of the watersheds…that means water levels and flows on all watercourses are expected to rise through the weekend and well into next week.

Residents, especially those living in the low-lying, hazard areas, should keep a close eye on the situation as flooding could become an issue.

Parents are also reminded to keep the kids away from the cold, fast-flowing water and slippery river banks.
