Another blow to the local mining sector.

20 jobs at the Victoria project here in Sudbury have been cut and KGHM International says some contracts have been suspended.

The job losses comes after KGHM announced in December it was putting its McCreedy West Mine on care and maintenance, blaming low nickel prices.

In a release, the company says this latest move will enable the project to optimize its activities in 2016 and at the same time will ensure maximum organizational cost efficiency.
