Health-Unit- SDHU

While some are struggling with the thought of going from three bags of trash to two bags per house, the Sudbury and District Health Unit wants people to know there is good from the decision.

SDHU officials say the change is in line with being a world class forward thinking city, transitioning the local environment to support and promote lifestyles that are healthy for both you and the planet.

Health Promoter, Jane Bulloch says food waste is something we can all work towards avoiding.

Bulloch says this change will hopefully make people recycle and use green bins more often, as well as reduce food waste within the home.

The city’s new garbage bag regulations will take effect this October, with the plan to drop down to one bag per week by 2019.
