The jobless number for Sudbury went down for the first time since August 2015.

According to Statistics Canada the unemployment rate dropped to 8.3 percent from 8.6 percent in January.

It was the opposite nationally as the unemployment rate saw a slight bump up to 7.3 percent, up a percentage point from January due to a loss of 23 hundred jobs in Canada.

It was the first time in three years the unemployment number went up federally.
