Maison Vale Hospice

Officials with the Maison Vale Hospice here in Sudbury are applauding news that more funding is heading their way.

In last weeks provincial budget, it was announced that the government will invest an additional $75-million into palliative care and residential hospices.

Executive Director of the local hospice Leo Therrien says it will help ease the financial burden they face every year.

Because of a lack of government funding, $1-million has to be raised in the community to keep the doors of the hospice open.

Therrien says it’s not known yet how much funding they will receive as the final numbers still have to be crunched.
