There is major clean-up along Highway 69, south of Britt, after a fatal multi-vehicle collision involving two transports, a plow and a mini-van.

Around 9:20 Thursday night a southbound transport carrying livestock (cattle) struck the blade of a northbound snow-plow.

The tractor trailer then hit an oncoming mini-van and another transport, which was carrying vehicles.

Police say the two transports both hit rock cuts and burst into flames.

The driver of the rig hauling livestock was killed and the five people in the mini-van suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Neither the driver of the plow, nor the driver of the transport carrying vehicles were injured.

OPP have Highway 69 closed between Highway 522 near Grundy Lake Provincial Park and Highway 124 at Parry Sound, with no estimated time for reopening.

There is a detour smaller vehicles only using Highway 529.
