Ontario’s New Democrats say Premier Kathleen Wynne must come clean about her role, if any in the Sudbury byelection scandal that led to criminal charges against Gerry Lougheed Jr.

He was charged yesterday after an investigation into allegations he offered former candidate Andrew Olivier a job or appointment to step aside for the Feb. 5th by-election.

Wynne refused to answer questions about whether she had told Lougheed to make the job offer, insisting she couldn’t comment because the case is now before the courts.

But N-D-P Leader Andrea Horwath says it shouldn’t take the courts for the premier to explain whether she or anyone in her office gave Lougheed his marching orders.
