We now have a date and a few more details for when Chicago Blackhawks Forward Andrew Desjardins brings the Stanley Cup to his hometown of Lively.

The NHL’s most coveted prize and the hometown hero will be at the T.M Davies Community Centre in Walden on Monday, July 6th from 11am until 2pm.

It was Darren Vagnini President of the Walden Minor Hockey Association who spread the good news to our newsroom.

He says fans will be asked for a $2 donation to the Sudbury Food Bank to get in.

Vagnini hopes to have more details on the visit in the coming days, including a possible parade.

N-H-L players on the winning team are allowed to travel to their hometowns with the Stanley Cup throughout the summer.

After the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup over the Tampa Bay Lightning, Desjardins was quoted as saying he looked forward to bringing the trophy to his hometown of Lively.
