The city may never recover nearly one-million-dollars lost in the Sudbury Transit ticket scandal.

A contractor sold bus tickets from the downtown kiosk between 1999 and 2009, and along the way $800,000 in proceeds were never turned over to the city.

Mayor Brian Bigger released some findings yesterday, as he promised during the election campaign last fall.

According to Bigger, the forensic audit was not able to be completed since city staff never turned in information.

The Mayor is confident Interim C-A-O Bob Johnston will take appropriate action with the personnel.

Bigger is disappointed staff didn’t come forward to forensic auditors with the information but says this won’t happen again.

He’s asked the Interim C-A-O to create a Code of Conduct for all levels of municipal employees and a communication policy.
